R.D. Lawrence Construction Company Begins Building New 100,000 Square Foot Middle School and High School in Beardstown

Construction is now underway on a new 100,000 square foot middle and high school for Beardstown Consolidated Unit District No. 15. R.D. Lawrence Construction Company, Ltd., of Springfield, began construction this month on the project that is scheduled to be completed by December 2004.

“We are excited about the beginning construction on this important project for the Beardstown School District,” said John E. Goetz, President of R.D. Lawrence Construction Company. “When completed, this new middle school and high school building will improve the educational setting for students and teachers in Beardstown for many years to come.”

The total budget for the project is $18 million, including $8.3 million for R.D. Lawrence’s services as general contractor. The architect for the project is Fitch-Fitzgerald Architects and Engineers of Springfield.

R.D. Lawrence Construction Company, Ltd. provides general contracting and construction management services in Central Illinois. The company specializes in commercial and institutional projects, including schools, universities, hospitals and office buildings.

Some of R.D. Lawrence’s other current projects include the new United Methodist Center and new CWLP Customer Service Center, both in Springfield, and two new buildings at Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln.
