John Goetz, C.E.
President and CEO

John joined R.D. Lawrence in 1976 as a Project Manager. He was promoted to Vice-President in 1984, then named President in 1996. With more than 40 years of construction experience, John is frequently called upon by owners to lend his expertise to specialized projects such as the interior renovation of the Illinois State Capitol Dome and development of the World War II Illinois Veterans Memorial in Springfield. He has twice served as President of the Associated General Contractors – Central Illinois Builders.

Judith McMurl
Vice President/Office Manager

Judith has 42 years of construction industry experience and has worked for R.D. Lawrence for over 33 years. She oversees all daily office functions, plus prepares project pay requests, reconciles projects and accounting, and oversees the payroll and general ledger. 

Greg Goetz, P.E. S.E.
Project Manager

Greg has been a Project Manager at R.D. Lawrence for over 28 years and has more than 40 years of construction/engineering experience. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and a Master’s in Business Administration from Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL. As a Project Manager, he oversees job estimates, purchases and cost control on various projects which have included the Illinois High-Speed Rail Station remodel and construction of the Illinois State Police Memorial Park and St. John’s Hospital. 

Chris Vaniter
General Field Superintendent

Chris has 19 years of construction experience, which includes three years as a General Field Superintendent and eight years as a laborer for R.D. Lawrence. His job duties include overall coordination of field activities, reviewing jobsite equipment needs, scheduling workers and maximizing productivity. Overseeing both large and small projects, his portfolio projects include the Beardstown High School ISP elevator upgrade and expansion of Passavant Area Hospital. He graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Jeremy Meats
Project Manager

Jeremy is responsible for estimating and project management, plus cultivating relationships with clients. He has 21 years of construction industry experience and a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and Construction Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering. His expertise includes government and education facilities, having managed projects for the Morgan County Health Department, Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois, Taylorville School District and Ball Chatham Elementary School. 

Caitlin Goetz
Project Manager

Caitlin has more than 15 years of project management experience, having worked for the past 10 years at R.D. Lawrence. She has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. With expertise in complex historic restoration, Caitlin has successfully managed projects to restore President Abraham Lincoln’s tomb and receiving vault in Springfield, IL and the Illinois State Capitol building.
